The Designs

For Sweater Club #29 - This time around we looked for a cable designs that can be enjoyed this winter, something suitable for those who want to delve into beautiful cables all over or choose the design that a faux cable, but still have some.  We think you'll like what we chose.

For the Knitters

Peach Bourbon Tea

Peach Bourbon Tea is knit from the bottom up. Panels under the arms and along the sides of the body make for easy modifications if you want to adjust the fit. Notes are in the pattern on altering the size or proportion in a number of ways. Cable instructions are both charted and written. Deeper texture comes from wrapped twists at center back and along each front, while more traditional cable columns are paired on either side of the body, and crossed in long swoops. This elegant mix of motifs provides just enough contrast to be interesting and leans into the delicate vibe of the fabric. The amount of patterning doesn’t compete with the yarn itself, and allows the fabric to drape beautifully.

Stillwater

Stillwater is destined to become a wardrobe staple. A timeless classic featuring understated yet eye-catching details, this sweater is crafted from the top down and seamlessly. Stillwater features beautiful “faux” cables on the front, eliminating the need for actual cabling. While known as the "4 Day Sweater" for its ease of completion, you will have plenty of time to enjoy the process of creating your new favorite sweater.

For the Crocheters:

Blithe Cable Pullover

The Blithe Cable Pullover has long twisting cables that give this pullover sweater easy sophistication. The loose gauge allows you enough drape for a flattering fit.

The smooth and stretchy extended single crochet background allows the cabled section to remain perfectly vertical while working in the round. Increases on the front yoke of the sweater are made next to the cables to make them less noticeable; this will create a bit of fullness on either side of the cable near the bust, which will disappear when the sweater is blocked.

Yarn Selection

Both designs call for DK weight yarn. You can choose from any DK or combine fingering weight and mohair to create your own luxurious yarn. We really like the array of our Juniper Moon Herriot (Dk weight and Fingering), Queensland Kathmandu DK for these projects. As well as our fingering and Mohair collections. Come in and we'll help you find the perfect yarn for your sweater.
