For Sweater Club #30 - This time around we were inspired by the gorgeous Adarah Fiber Art yarn trunk show we had in our shop for the LA Yarn Crawl. One of the yarns - Adarah Linen DK was used to knit the Sylven top by Natasja Hornby and we just couldn't help ourselves! So Sylven knit with Adarah Linen DK is our choice for Sweater Club #30. We have the yarn in the shop through May 10 so come in quick and get yours. Most sizes will only need 3-4 skeins.
We think you'll like what we chose.
For the Knitters
Sylven strikes the perfect balance between effortless wear and timeless charm. The delicate lace border adds a graceful touch, while the short sleeves and well-shaped fit make it a versatile choice for any wardrobe.
Designed to flatter all sizes, Sylven is a go-to piece for warmer days—light, breathable, and endlessly wearable. Whether paired with a flowing skirt or your favorite jeans, this tee is sure to become a cherished staple in your handknit collection!
CONSTRUCTION
Sylven is worked from the top down. First, the back yoke is worked back and forth until the underarm while shaping the shoulders using short rows. Then, stitches are picked up to work the front shoulders. The shoulders are joined by casting on stitches for the front neck, and the front yoke is worked to the underarm, where the front and back are joined to work the body in the round.
For the sleeves, stitches are picked up around the armhole. The sleeve caps are shaped using German short rows. The sleeves are worked in the round. To finish the neckline, stitches are picked up, after which the ribbing is worked in the round.
The pattern includes instructions for horizontal bust darts. The darts are optional; instructions for a sweater with and without darts are given.
Yarn Ideas: Adarah Linen DK, Ecopuno, Noro Kompeito
This beginner-friendly tee pattern is pure knitting joy. The yoke comes together quickly, keeping you motivated as you work through the increases and establish the raglan lines with a beautiful 10-stitch broken rib pattern. Then, it’s smooth sailing with effortless knitting in the round.
