Weave on a Rigid Heddle Loom - Dishtowels

Learn to use the Rigid Heddle Loom and handcraft your own hand/dishtowels.

Description: Enjoy your own handwoven dishtowels while working in your kitchen. Learn how to weave these thirsty towels in colors that suit your decor.  During class you will warp the loom and weave two small towels and learn how to put the finishing touches on them at home.  Don’t miss this chance to enhance your kitchen with beautiful hand crafted towels. Handwoven towels make great gifts too.

Supplies to bring: Unmercerized dk - worsted cotton yarn in 4 - 5 colors.  35 yards each of 4 different colors, 200 yards additional of 1 color (see suggested yarns below).   Scissors, tapestry needle, cardboard tube from inside a paper towel roll, 2 brown paper grocery bags. Rigid Heddle loom with at least 10” weaving width, 7.5 or 8 dent reed, and weaving tools (sley/threading hook, clamps, warping peg, shuttle). 

Suggested yarns:  K1C2 Ty-Dy, K1C2 2nd Time Cotton, Erika Knight Gossypium, Vinnis Colours Nikkim, Blue Sky Fibers Organic Skinny or Berroco Pima Cotton.  Purchase yarn at Wildfiber Studio.

We provide looms to use in class or purchase one here or bring your own.
