For Sweater Club #27 - This time around we looked for quick designs that can be finished in just a few weeks, something suitable for warm weather and even something easy enough for new sweater knitters. We think you'll like what we chose.
For the Knitters
Knitted in the round from the bottom with a wavy hemline created by a chevron lace pattern in fingering weight yarn, the rest of the pullover is understated and knitted with a single strand of lace weight silk-mohair yarn with a needle that goes up in sizes towards the shoulders. The result is a wonderful gradation of translucency and airiness in the fabric. Make use of interchangeable needles with this one. You'll be using US 4, 7,8,9 and 10.
Yarn: You'll be surprised that most sizes will only require one skein of fingering weight and 1-2 skeins of mohair (or other lace weight if you prefer). We made our sample with our custom 29 Bridges Go To Sock "Raku" and Suri lace weight.
Three years ago Sommerknus was one of our sweater choices and we have always wanted to bring it back for an encore. It was that popular! The design is worked from the top down making it easy to adjust the body and sleeve length (short, ¾ or long sleeves). You'll enjoy the all-over textured pattern - similar to a sampler.
Yarn: This one will look amazing knit with Berroco Modern Linen, Sandnes Garn Line or any number of sport to dk weight cotton or linen yarns from our shelves.
For the Crocheters:
Take your crochet skills to the next level with SIA Crochet Cardigan. This easy crochet pattern offers a stylish cardigan pattern that is both trendy and functional, making it a favorite among passionate makers. Everyone will appreciate the clear instructions in this pattern. Confident beginners will shouldn't be intimidated. You can do this!
Yarn: The design calls for light fingering weight together with a strand of mohair. You can also go with a single strand of sport or dk cotton or merino.
Come in and we'll help you find the perfect yarn for your sweater.
