*Sweater Club #19 May/July 2023

Join our Sweater Club #19 now! Our knitalongs meetup in person and give everyone the encouragement to knit a sweater. 

How this works

1) You choose which of the designs you want to make from our pre-selected list. 

We consider knitting trends, techniques used, designer creativity, pattern reliability, and size inclusivity when selecting the designs for Sweater Club. So the designs we pre-select are sure to please a wide range of knitters.

2) Sign-up here (select the design option) or in the shop. There is no cost to join.

3) Purchase your yarn at our shop.

4) Purchase your pattern on Ravelry or through our shop.

5) Join our weekly meetups for the community and knitting help along the way. 

 Meet-ups: Sundays 11am-12noon; May 21, 28; June 4, 11, 18, 25 and July 2. Meetups are optional so come when you can.

The Designs

For Sweater Club #19 we kept in mind the changing weather we're having. With warmer days and cool evenings we decided this Sweater Club should include sweaters that easily transition. Our finalists are: Vellichor  and Weekender Light both by Andrea Mowry.

Vellichor:  This cropped tee is perfect for layering through all the seasons! Knit with a cotton/wool blend yarn or 100% wool for a cozy feel.  The stitch pattern is just engaging enough so that you don’t want to set it down! This bottom up design is easy to modify in length or even add sleeve length if you prefer.

Weekender Light: This sweater is knit from the bottom up in the round until the yoke. The yoke is knit flat and then joined at the shoulders with a 3 needle bind off. Sleeves are picked up and knit down from the body for a completely seamless sweater!

Yarn Suggestions: Both designs are knit with fingering weight yarn so you have lots of choices in the shop. Take a look at Manos del Uruguay Alegria, Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok Light, Apple Fiber Studio, Kim Dyes Sourdough Sock for inspiration. Add mohair for fun!
