*Sweater Club #11 May/Jun 2021

Here is our 2021 Sweater Club #11 with a few selections!

How this works - 1)You choose which of the designs you want to knit:  Fine (or Quick) Sand, Early Bloomer, or Granito. 2)Sign-up here or in the shop; 3) purchase your yarn at our shop; 4) join our weekly Zoom calls for the community and knitting help along the way; 5) Yeah! you finish your sweater!

Fine/Quick SandA sleek, minimalist design that lets the yarn shine! The shaping is achieved through elegantly placed lifted increases throughout the yoke and then carried down the back. A few short rows are used to make the front sections a touch shorter than the back. Altogether, the result is a simple and wearable cardigan. It is worked from the top down, entirely seamlessly. The instructions comprise only a few repetitive elements, so it’s easy to find your knitting rhythm. Suitable for a knitter with some experience with top down knitting. The design is available as Fine Sand (DK weight) or Quick Sand (Aran weight).

Early Bloomer Early Bloomer can be knit in any DK weight yarn, and the instructions include both a short and long sleeve option. The body length is slightly cropped (11 inches / 28 cm) but can easily be lengthened or shortened. Note that for every additional inch of length, you will need about 5% more MC yarn (relative to the amount for the short sleeved version given below). It is knit from the top down, in one piece, beginning with a provisional cast on. The provisional stitches are picked up at the end, then the neck is shaped with short rows and the collar is finished in ribbing. Other than the short rows for the neck shaping, it is worked entirely in the round. Yoke shaping is done with increases during the colour-work, in addition to raglan increases following the colour-work.

Granito Once again, another great Joji Locatelli design. Granito is a basic sweater with a relaxed fit and big pockets on the sides. It’s the perfect garment for lounging and relaxing. It’s worked seamlessly from the top down using fingering to Dk weight, it ALL depends on your gauge.  This sweater is going to be a go to always, with the sweet pockets on the side that you can add a pop of color to. You can use a suitable yarn that can be used in the spring and summer months, as well as a nice wool sweater for the fall and winter.
